Request Definition Setup > Request Definition Characteristic how does it work in OMT ?

I referring the below article and trying a PoC to understand how Request Definition works in combination with characteristics.

I have created a request definition record with one characteristic and I am creating a OMT Task by executing this request definition from subflow.

OMT task gets created but I don't see option to provide value for the characteristics selected in request definition. Can someone suggest how it works ?

Request definition comes into play when you assign an order task to an user. It also has another role that it plays during amend order. However, in your case, have you assigned the task to any user?
