Badges v. Certifications

I’m looking into the SYS ADMIN focus.  Upon reviewing how to start, I found one way that leads to a Badge and another that states it’s for the certification.  I’m guessing having a certfication is the route but what’s the difference?

Assoc Sys Admin Badge > https://learning.servicenow.com/lxp/en/pages/journey-overview?id=journey_overview&journey_id=55f79b4...

This seems to come from “Career Journey”.

The certification focus is different.  I can’t bring it up as the pages seem to be freezing today. but here is the page I found that seems to be where I should get started.

My OBJECTIVE: to become a FUNCTIONAL Implementation Consultant w/ a focus on HRSD (but have been adv I must become CSA first).  (I do NOT code at all but have good general IT knowledge).

I appreciate any help or guidance on what comes first and where to go from here (that was an open invitation huh).

Hi @mewiley ,

For CSA certification refer the below link.

Difference:

The link you mentioned is for 'System Administrator Career Journey'. After completion of this course you will receive the badge. For this course you have to completed the csa certification and some micro certification.
