Can I get the updated course eBook for ITSM CIS?

Hi guys,

I took the ITSM CIS training and exam 3-4 years ago, based on Paris.

Now I want to go through some sections of the eBook (provided by VitalSource Bookshelf) but there is upgraded material for Utah (at least).

Do you know if I can get the newer eBook somehow, since I have the one for Paris?

Ebooks are non-downloadable and non-transferable. and I doubt we can get updated version. My experience say on version you did training, you get book for same only. Might be worth logging case to Now Learning team and check but my feeling say we cant get updated book.

To be add more point , it happened with me, SN stop sharing ebook as well, the training is the ebook. I appeared for event mgmt exam and no ebook was given to me and after raising case, i got the above reply.

My experience with course ebooks over the years is, that you get an update in case your course covers a family release change. But for courses I took some years ago, the related e-books are not updated any longer. And to my mind it makes sense as the e-books have to match the related course on NowLearning and you cannot access any more your mainline courses after years. Instead you have to start from the beginning which also includes a fresh version of te ebook.

Hi there,

You cannot get legally newer eBook versions. It's just how it is. ServiceNow also communicates this every course. In theory the eBook and possible Now Learning course are also only valid for 1 year (although I know from experience that most can be accessed for a longer while).
