I'm looking to transfer knowledge working the past 25 years in Talent Acquisition and HR into an Implementation Consultant role. I've been advised I only need to get certified w/ one of your products (and I do not code btw so seeking more functional focus) but unsure which route to take.
As it stands I've been pointed to the HRSD Implementor certification route being told there is no coding involved and I could use my 25 years working in HR and Talent Acquisition. Once I'm officially certified, I've been advised I should be able to find a position rather easily as a Functional Implementation Consultant for ServiceNow.
Browsing the catalog I also found the Associate Implementor course but doesn't seem to have a certification and may not garner the same results??
Thoughts, ideas or corrections? thank you in advance,
Mike

Hey Mike: "easy" is *VERY* relative. I wonder when the last time the person who gave you that advice looked for an entry level job. It is NOT easy, and it gets harder every single day as the market continues to crank out new entrants through blazing fast and shallow bootcamps. The market is reacting by putting arbitrary years-experience barriers in place.
Based on what I've seen, I'd surrender to the idea that you'll need a year of learning fundamentals of the platform before venturing into a specialization like HR. It will help the HR component greatly that you come from that world, but without the fundamentals of platform, you won't be able to execute implementations. And the latter part is the only one that makes it "easy" to get careers in the SN space.
But if you take nothing else from the post: getting a job in the ServiceNow world will take far more blood, sweat, and tears, than just taking a few courses on the learning path. Those days are gone forever.

I sincerely appreciate your cold hard truth Robert. That's what I'm trying to do is learn the reality of what its going to take. While I'm currently unemployed and continue seeking work as a recruiter (not pretty outlook), I am hoping to get a new career path and where to begin is the challenge. sounds like I should focus on getting my CSA first to have a better understanding of the platform in general. Makes sense.

Hi @mewiley
It is good that you want to start in the ServiceNow domain but I will not recommend to directly jump in HRSD. HRSD is an SN module and before you go there you need to spend time understanding SN overall or in a nutshell. It is not a 2-3 day journey it will take time. As my friend @Uncle Rob said, easy is Very relative and I echo with him.
