ServiceNow Certified Application Developer exam

Hi everyone!

Are there anyone, who has completed this exam?

How difficult is the exam? Are there any tricky questions like in the System Administration exam?

Can I learn alone, or is the course (Application Creation in ServiceNow Training) necessary to pass the exam?

Please tell me the experience about this exam.

Thanks for any answers,

Attila

I've taken and passed the exam and the things that will help you would be:

1. System Administration experience or having gone through the System Admin courses

2. Understanding of creating an app in Service Now

3. Understanding of creating a scoped app in Service Now

4. Understanding of Team Development

5. Understanding of new functionality in the Fuji release

According to this link: Training:ServiceNow Certification - ServiceNow Wiki

There does not appear to be any relevant SN Wiki articles pertaining to SOAP and REST programming, but the CAD blueprint says this is 10 % of the exam.

For those that have taken the exam, how extensive or in-depth are the SOAP/REST portions of this exam?

Hi all sorry for being out of touch lately.

The Information you seek is Application Creation, I would contact someone about trying to just buy the book and studying but I do think you would benefit more from the actual training as Im sure the speaker has greater information about the exam.   The Exam is a memory exam, they do not ask you to put things together so I suggest reading over the material and making outlines of what've read at least 5 times, in a one months period.   There are no trick questions, but you must memorize the information given as it will test you on the structure of scripting, what global variables are where, and ask you questions on why a page should look like this vs that.

Over all it is worth to purchase the book and go through training.   You can gather enough information through the wiki to pass but I do believe it will be harder to know the core concepts as there is lots of information on the wiki.

Please purchase the book and get some training, its worth it.

Is it possible to purchase this "book" without going through the $2,000+ course?

I've been on this thread for some time and thought that I would just throw in the $150 (currently as of Apr 2016) to take the exam and see how difficult it is or not without the official materials.

I decided that if I failed, depending on how confident I am about the questions and answers, then I would either take the class independently ($2,000+ as of Apr 2016) or retake the exam ($75 as of Apr 2016) again at another near-future date.

Fortunately on the first try I passed. I still don't know how well or bad I did though, so it is possible to just go in with your own experience and pass this exam.

Really from a test-takers point-of-view, there was only one question that I felt was a bit "tricky". On all other questions I was able to use process of elimination as well as know exactly what the right answer was and a few questions which I flat out did not know and had to guess.

My summary thought on the initial question to this thread: If you're "the person" at your organization or part of that essential team at your organization that makes ServiceNow run and you're developing solutions to your organization's business needs/issues using the tools and methods across ServiceNow to make things work, you will be able to do this without the book and without the course... If you're "that person" (and you know who you are) then you need to just go, take it, and knock it out or else it will just be another lost opportunity for you (which is really my own case and several other certifications).

*Note: I would not recommend this method for the CISSP or the CCIE exam...
