Activity Stream - Enable users to edit or delete journal posts

Combined Next Experience Components release notes for upgrades from Zurich to Australia • australia ...

Was looking through the release notes from Zurich -> Australia and noticed the following under the Activity Stream section:

Enable users to edit or delete journal posts.

I tried looking for this feature in SOW + core UI on my Australia PDI but couldn't find it. Anyone know how to edit/delete journal posts? Is this something I have to activate through a system property?

In ServiceNow, journal entries such as Work Notes and Additional Comments should not be edited or deleted through standard form views in either the Core UI or Service Operations Workspace. It is not recommended.

Since these entries are intended to serve as an immutable audit record, any removal or redaction must be performed directly within the underlying system tables in the backend.

We got a incident , where  user mistakenly added sensitive info (password) in the comment and wanted to remove that sensitive info.  In my long career , that one only  we accepted to remove only sensitive info as it was related to  compliance issue.

Found out how to configure this new feature in UI builder.

1. Open UI builder
2. Open an experience, then open a page.
3. Add an activity stream component or click on an existing activity stream component within the canvas to open the configuration panel on the right-hand side of your screen.
4. Under the "configure" tab, scroll down to the option  "Enable edit and delete of journal posts".
5. Set to true. (May need to click the wand icon to customize the option, if you are using a preset)
6. Preview the page variant, and you should now be able to edit/delete journal entries.
