Effects of upgrading new version on UI Builder

If there is an duplicated page variant (SOW) , what will happen to it if there is an version upgrade ? will the new feature or changes be added to duplicated SNC or only the OOTB SNC

I guess it will no change, as it is duplicate and wit other name, which will not come in conflicts.
