During SNOW Version Upgrade, what checks are required at Host Mid Server to Auto Upgrade Mid Servers

We have observed a pattern that Whenever we are doing Upgrade, Our ServiceNow PROD  Mid Servers gets automatically upgraded to Latest Version of ServiceNow Instance, however in our NON-PROD Instance, Mid Servers doesn't auto upgrade it and leading to Down status and we need to manually Upgrade it. 

Can someone confirm what checks are required to be check at Host Machine Mid Servers, so that SNOW Mid Servers get auto upgraded ?

You may want to check the MID have the right settings or permissions by checking Auto Upgrade = true on the MID record and that the property mid.server.auto_upgrade is set to true.

I also observed that when the MID Server has an error, it resulted in that that we were not able to upgrade.

The last thing we saw a few years ago, was due to changing proxys and expressroutes.
