I want report to see the ownership group of the kb article related to the approval record

Hello All,
I dont see any  OOB approach to link the ownership group in the approval records.  I am aware of the solution of creating a custom field that  gets updated every time the approval is generated from the KB article(either from Workflow or Business Rule). But, I am still curious if there are OOB ways to do it.

Knowledge doesn't utilise approval groups like change management does. This is because the approvals are a composite of ownership group (if defined), base owner, and managers. 

What business problem are you trying to resolve?

Dedicated Knowledge Managers  and KB approvers per Domain tower want to approve their own domain specific KB articles. However, sometimes there are some approvers, who are part of two or more domains.

Are your knowledge bases split by domain tower? or is the domain tower the ownership group?

If the intention is to display a list of outstanding approvals, and the associated article, then a database view could be used to display the approval record information and the knowledge article information in the same view

Good suggestion on DB view. And yes sadly 1 monolith KB base.
