Parent child incident updation ,closure and dependency

Hi Team ,

I am receiving tickets in snow with tags of parent and child ,but have noticed the below issues and seek solution  :          - I  have to manually merge the child to a parent ticket

-Updates from parent are not flowing to the child 

-Closure of parent is dependent on child ticket closure first

 

Also i want to ask ,for the above to work do we really need CI relationship mapping in CMDB or the above  has no connect  or dependency on CI relationship mapping.

Please be specific what updates are not flowing into child from parent ticket.

it helps to answer more specifically.

Any notes or finding I update on the parent ticket is not copied/flow to child tickets

so what debugging did you perform?

There should be an OOTB business rule to update child when parent is updated

what script did you check?

OOTB is there but don't think updates are still flowing to child,also to my 3rd question,closure of parent is dependent on child closure first,is it dependent of CI relationship mapping?
