Service Portal Default View Modification

Hello All

 

Requirement is to change the Service Portal default view 

 

As we have default view of service portal Left side navigator catalog categories and as we select categories we can get corresponding catalog item tiles on right side 

 

Customer want to change this view as you can see in attached screen shot they don't want catalog item tiles they initially want Categories Subcategories to be showed instead  catalog item tiles when user accesses the service portal  and after opening those categories they want to show  catalog item tiles according to categories 

 

Kindly assist how can I achieve this requirement

for this you need to have custom widget and build the logic there

Have they thought about moving to employee center and using topics instead? Out of the box it shows the sub-topics at the top after clicking in on a topic, and you can decide if you wish to show items related to only the parent-topic or also show all items below in the child topics...  

 

Just instead of building something that is obsolete anway..
