I am new to ServiceNow and would like to download the trial or demo version for practice purposes.

You can get your very own PDI (Personal Developer's/Development Instance) on the Developer site.  There is also a Learn menu on this site that may still have some content, but definitely also checkout the ServiceNow University site for tons of learning opportunities to get you started and beyond.

As @Brad Bowman  has correctly highlighted, go to Home | ServiceNow Developers and claim a free PDI (Personal developer instance).
