Virtual Agent - Catalog item configuration

Hi,

We are trying to configure the Virtual Agent for catalog items and we are facing some challenges in configuring the same.

As per the ServiceNow, the catalog item having unsupported variables and catalog client script, the catalog item will open in a pop up window. However, we would like the catalog item to stay in the conversation and all the variables should be asked within the conversation itself. 

 

I am thinking a creating a custom conversation for the each catalog item(Topic) and handle the variables in the conversation itself and utilize the Cart API to submit the request. 

 

I am assuming the above method will require a lot of scripting and maintenance. Can anyone please let me know is there a feasible way to achieve this?

Also, are order guide supported in VA?
