Hi, unfortunately your post contains no clear details of your requirement and so the community are not in a position to provide specific advice.
Unless using a widget, you will probably need an onChange() client or catalog client script, the biggest downside to this is that the script will not run\the data cannot be validated until the user steps off the field.
I would recommend that you start by reviewing documentation and client scripts in a PDI.
