Hello,
This morning I've noticed about a dozen records in the sys_cs_topic table with names starting with _PRVW__
What are these records?
The only thing that has changed since Friday is our sys admin installed the "Add To Update Set" utility. Is there a way to stop these records from being created? What would happen if I delete them?
Solved! Go to Solution.

Had to search a bit, though the _PRVW_ records are cleaned up after 43.200 seconds! So 12 hours.
If my answer helped you in any way, please then mark it as helpful.
Kind regards,

Hi there,
These records are generated when previewing a topic. Hence PRVW, preview 🙂
They won't harm, and will be automatically removed within some hours (I thought 12 or 24, have to double check).
If my answer helped you in any way, please then mark it as helpful.
Kind regards,

They're "Preview" topics - created whenever you click the Preview/Test button in VA Designer.
The technical reason for this I'm sure is because you can preview topics without needing to publish them (or even save them), so the system dynamically generates a topic for it to use for testing.
You can delete them no problem, but it's entirely unnecessary because the system purges them regularly (every couple hours? once a day? I haven't paid close attention or looked up the mechanism - probably a scheduled job?)
Take it from somebody who used to remove them all from my update sets just to be safe - don't bother doing anything with them, it's a waste of time.
