How do I "un-stuck" my playbook in the designer?

I am new to Playbooks. I created a simple Playbook with just decisions and User records. It wasn't until I tried to use a "Wait for" that I ran into trouble. On the UI tab, I could not select a view or fields. On the Automation tab, I could select Incident, bot all the other fields had no options and gave me errors. I selected Automation on the UI tab and that got me one error to go away, and then I was locked out.
I saved my work, reopened, and could not change anything. I tried to delete the Activity and that failed. In the Diagram View, I could delete the Activity. However, now two of the fields from the "Wait for" are read-only I can't remove them. I can't save the Playbook. Sure, I can add connecting lines and I can open an existing Activity, but I can't add, edit, or remove an activity. Edits are accepted but ignored. Add does nothing. Delete does nothing. Unless there is a secret, I am at the starting over point.
When I look at the first activity, I see the correct fields. When I start a playbook, I get the first few fields and then the last two of the Activity that I deleted.
Any suggestions?

I am adding a line below:

My Condition activity:

No errors shown.
I did just notice that my environment was upgraded to Zurich. I do have a trigger that looks at the major incident state. Otherwise, it's pretty simple.
I started a second Playbook and I can only add Activities in the board view and I am having the same issue of not being able to add activies. I'm going to try a different instance.
