Question on repeating trigger for flows in flow designer

This may be a dumb question, but I can't find documentation and while I could go with "try and see", some of the impacted processes are very sensitive so I want to be careful...

When I set up a flow with a repeating trigger and then activate the flow, it doesn't look like it executes immediately.  If I set a flow to run every 90 days and activate it, will the first execution of the flow take place 90 days after the activation, or does the trigger work differently than that?

I created a new test flow to run every 10 minutes and the first execution was right after publishing it, the next execution 10 minutes later. Hope this helps 🙂
