As we embark on 2025, join us in reflecting on the key highlights from Workplace Service Delivery's 2024 releases. This blog explores new enhancements and features designed to elevate the employee experience, operationalize the workplace adminstrator, and introduces seamless smart building integrations and insights. 

Discover how these innovations empower organizations with smarter space management and more efficient workplace operations, transforming the way employees engage with their environments. 

 

1. Elevating the Workplace Experience 

Workplace Service Delivery enables employees to easily access and manage their work environment, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and collaborative workplace experience. The 2024 releases, focused on providing easy to use tools for employees both on desktop and mobile devices. 

 

  • Workplace Concierge: is a new application created to foster collaboration. Employees choose to go to the workplace to collaborate and connect with colleagues, so knowing the best days to be in-person is essential. However, coordinating schedules to ensure colleagues are present for productive collaboration can be challenging. The Employee Presence feature allows employees to set their in-office routine, form their collaboration group, learn about in-office events and activities, and view each other’s planned office attendance in a convenient dashboard view… all focused on making the workplace a destination!

All Employee Presence configurations, including setting a routine, defining a collaboration group, and viewing the dashboard, can also be managed through NowMobile. This simplifies the process and allows employees to conveniently view and update their information on the go. 

 

Workplace Experience Applications: 

  • The NowMobile enhancements improve the employee experience by allowing them to quickly scan space QR codes for easy reservations on the go. This QR code reservation functionality utilizes the existing features, enabling employees to raise a case, get directions, and favorite a space.

  • The NowMobile enhancements also include the Location Directory. As a central tool in the Workplace Service Delivery experience, allowing employees to take swift actions from both card and map views. In 2024, the experience was redesigned to offer a nearly full-screen map view and added filtering options for enhanced functionality.

The Workplace Experience has evolved from exclusively focusing on employees to also accommodating visitors, ensuring they enjoy a seamless experience that reflects the organization's brand image and simplifies their experience.

 

  • Workplace Services Kiosk: a new capability of Workplace Visitor Management, streamlines the visitor experience by providing a customizable self-service solution, allowing visitors to check in, check out, or self-register seamlessly while keeping employees updated with real-time notifications.

2.  Facilitating Space Management

Workplace Service Delivery equips Space Planners with a comprehensive suite of tools to efficiently analyze, manage, and optimize spaces. Key features like Indoor Mapping, Map-based Space Administration, Scenario Planning, and Move Management enable planners to ensure that spaces effectively meet organizational goals and employee needs. 

 

  • The CAD editor has been integrated into Map Studio to give Map Admins greater flexibility in keeping maps up to date. Since AutoCAD files serve as the source of truth and should always reflect the latest information, it is essential to simplify the process of adding, editing, or removing text and polylines. With this new feature, Map Admins can make these updates without leaving Map Studio, and export back to the CAD file, ensuring they can be easily shared and utilized by other teams.

The Workplace Space Management enhancements and new features provide Space Planners with additional capabilities for allocating and assigning spaces. 

 

  • Multi-building Scenario Planning enhances existing functionality by enabling Space Planners to create "what-if" plans for space allocations and assignments before implementing changes in production. This new capability allows Planners to view and edit data across multiple buildings seamlessly in both stack and map views.

  • The Schedule Planner provides Project Owners with an efficient tool to manage project timelines by assigning employees to specific projects and coordinating space allocations for a defined period. The process involves creating a schedule, specifying the project’s start and end dates, outlining the schedule details, and selecting both the employees involved and the spaces required for the project’s duration.

3. Streamlining Facilities Management 

Workplace Services and Maintenance Personnel are often on the move, working to complete assigned cases and tasks. However, they rarely have access to a desktop while navigating the building, making it inefficient and challenging to view, update, and manage their cases effectively. Equipping them with a tool to streamline their experience and support their on-the-go work has been a key focus of our 2024 investments. 

 

  • Workplace Agent for Mobile offers a personalized work view, empowering Agents to efficiently manage and update their tasks and cases while on the move. This mobile capability ensures agents can access essential details, receive directions to task locations, update case statuses, and add comments directly from their devices—improving productivity, responsiveness, and the overall workplace experience.

4. Leveraging Smart Building Integrations and Insights 

Workplace teams need access to accurate, real-time data to make informed decisions that optimize space usage, enhance employee experiences, and improve operational efficiency. By leveraging data on occupancy, attendance, and environmental conditions, they can proactively enhance productivity and engagement while optimizing resource allocation to create a work environment that meets the evolving needs of the workforce. 

 

  • The Workplace Connectors application provides agnostic frameworks for integrations that enable organizations to seamlessly connect with third-party systems. These connectors allow for real-time data exchange to ensure accurate information. In 2024, several frameworks were delivered to support integrations with: 
    • Occupancy sensors 
    • Environmental sensors (Air Quality & Temperature) 
    • Wi-Fi data
