Duration From to To is unlimited after WSD Suite plugin update to latest version

Hi WSD community,

We are currently testing functionalities in DEV environment (Zurich) after updating WSD suite to latest version.

We noticed that with the new version, we can book From and To without the same day only limit now, which is not desirable. We allow recurring option in Reservable Module configuration so users are allowed to select several dates but we dont want to allow one continuous booking for several days stretch. What has changed in the new version and how we can retain how we had it configured before (when trying to select NOT today's date in "End date and time", it immediately reverts to today's date) ?

It seems to be a known error.

Zurich Patch 6: Known Errors - Known Error

Try to repair the plugin and try. If the issue is not resolved, log a case to Servicenow vendor for the fix.

Actually, on looking for more information out there, I found this update in https://www.servicenow.com/community/wsd-blog/workplace-service-delivery-what-s-new-in-the-january-3...

  • A new role has been delivered as part of this release to enable the Users that have this new role (sn_wsd_rsv.bypass_module_validation) to ignore certain time related setting defined on the reservable module on the reservation portal.  Enabling the Users to overwrite the defined max days in future, limit of occurrences, duration of the reservation, and the multi-day reservation settings.  

Note: This new role is only applied to the advanced reservation experience. It is not available to the quick reservation, Outlook add-in, native mobile, or space details page experiences. 

 

Initial testing I think confirms this - I have this role along with admin role and can book several dates stretch without limits. When we tried user without that role, Date for "To" option disappeared so the max duration for 1 day only applies to them.

 

Was wondering if ServiceNow could elaborate why this new role was introduced, who gets it automatically with the upgrade.
