ServiceNow Employee

Workplace Service Delivery (WSD) capabilities are now available in Moveworks. Employees can set their office schedule, view colleague availability, find and reserve a space, and modify bookings conversationally, without navigating multiple portals.

For an overview of these capabilities from the employee’s perspective, see The New Employee Experience: Workplace Service Delivery & Moveworks.

This blog covers how to set up this new experience: the plugins to install and steps to follow.

Capabilities and required plugins

Eleven plugins are available in the Moveworks AI Agent Marketplace. Together they deliver the complete experience described in the blog mentioned above. Each plugin depends on a Workplace Service Delivery application.

Install all the eleven plugins to deliver the full experience.

Prerequisites

Three requirements apply to all eleven plugins. Confirm each before installing.

Workplace Service Delivery Store Applications

Each plugin requires an active installation of its application, at the minimum version below. Both must be installed and configured before any Moveworks plugin is installed.

Application

Minimum version

Workplace Concierge

1.7.11

Workplace Reservation Management

3.5.0

ServiceNow Connector

Each plugin requires an active ServiceNow connector configured with OAuth 2.0 using the Authorization Code grant, also known as user consent authentication. The connector must be fully set up before any plugin is installed.

Configuration steps are in the OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code guide.

Employee identity

Each plugin acts on records belonging to the employee making the request, so employees must be ingested into Moveworks from ServiceNow, and must hold the sn_wsd_core.workplace_user role. Requests fail without the role, regardless of connector status.

Setup steps are in Identity Configuration in Moveworks Setup.

Installation

  1. Install and configure both Workplace Service Delivery applications, at the minimum version.
  2. Configure the ServiceNow connector using the Authorization Code grant.
  3. Confirm employees are ingested from ServiceNow and hold the sn_wsd_core.workplace_user role, then verify the identity source name in each plugin’s Compound Action mapping.
  4. Install and activate the plugins in Agent Studio, following the Moveworks plugin installation documentation.

Validation

Each plugin page in the Moveworks AI Agent Marketplace includes a sample conversation showing the exchange between an employee and the AI Assistant. Use these to confirm each plugin responds as documented before extending access more broadly.
