Configure opportunity-to-quote field mapping

Configure field mapping between opportunities and quotes so that quote header fields are populated automatically when a user creates a quote from an opportunity in CPQ.

Before you begin

The quote header layout must be configured before mapping fields to it. For more information, see Fill in the quote fields.

About this task

When a user creates a quote from an opportunity, Transaction Manager can automatically populate quote header fields with values from the opportunity record. Administrators configure this behavior using entity mapping, which defines which opportunity fields map to which quote fields.

Procedure

1. Navigate to All > CPQ Administration and open the entity mapping configuration for opportunity-to-quote.
2. For each field you want to auto-populate, select the source field from the opportunity and the target field on the quote.

   Only fields that exist on both the opportunity and the quote header can be mapped. Reference fields on the quote can be mapped to reference fields on the opportunity if they point to the same ServiceNow table.

3. Select Save to apply the mapping.

Result

When a user creates a quote from an opportunity, the mapped fields are automatically populated with values from the opportunity record.
