Add a goal to a business process

Add goals to business processes to align process activities with strategic objectives and track performance metrics.

About this task

Link goals to business processes to establish clear connections between operational activities and strategic objectives. You can add existing goals or create new goals directly from the business process record.

Procedure

1. Navigate to Workspaces > Enterprise Architecture Workspace.
2. Open the Portfolio List view by selecting the Portfolio icon ().
3. Select the expand row icon () next to Business Architecture.
4. Select Business Processes.
5. Select the business process that you want to add a goal to.
6. Select the Goals tab.
7. Add a goal using one of the following methods.
   • To add an existing goal:
     1. Select Add.
     2. In the Add goal window, select the goal and the relationship type between the goal and the business process.
     3. Select Add.
   • To create a goal, select New and complete the fields on the form. For field descriptions, see Create goal form.

Result

The goal appears in the Goals related list. You can manage the goal association from this list.
