Exploring business actors
A business actor represents the entity that performs work in your organization, such as a business unit, role, or department.
You need business actors to specify who performs business process activities. Business actors can be associated with departments, groups, locations, and the business roles they fulfill.
Using Enterprise Architecture Workspace, you can perform the following:
- Create and edit business actors
- Associate a department, group, and location with a business actor
- Associate a business actor with the business roles it fulfills
- Associate a business actor with the business process activities it performs
When you model a business actor in a diagram, the default relationship between a business actor and a business role is Assigned to:Fulfilled by. The default relationship between a business actor and a business process activity is Performs:Performed by.
