Marilyse joined ServiceNow in 2022 and is currently Senior Program Manager, Communications and Outreach for ServiceNow AI Research, where she leads external and internal communications for the group. She manages the bi-monthly Beyond NOW newsletter and hosts the AI Research Bites series, among other initiatives to help researchers shine inside and outside the company. Prior to joining ServiceNow, she spent 10 years in Vancouver teaching French and French literature at UBC and Quest University. She holds a Master’s degree in History and a joint PhD (UBC/Paris-Nanterre) in French literature. Her research focused on the figure of the nun and her representation in 18th-century French novels and society. In a nutshell, various sources highlight the process by which fiction participates in the construction of a negative social imagination of nuns and convents. Her research sheds new light on a social imagination that was prevalent in the 18th century, and is an original contribution to the study of the representation of women in literature. On a personal level, she loves cooking, playing piano, reading, and more than anything, hiking and spending time in the mountains.
