How to manage multiple Company records with the same name for different business contexts?

Hi all,
We are an MSP and need to create multiple Company records with the same name but for different business relationships (e.g., direct customer vs. end-customer under a partner).

Example:

• Company A (Direct) – no parent

• Company A (Under Partner X) – parent = Partner X

Issue:
Even when the parent company is different, ServiceNow throws an “Invalid insert” error.
This started after the Normalization Data Services plugin was activated (Jan 2023). The hash field on core_company appears to block duplicates even when hierarchy differs.

Questions:

1. Is this expected behavior with NDS?

2. Does ServiceNow support having the same company name with different parents?

3. If not, what is the recommended best practice for MSPs in this scenario?

4. Is it safe/supported to disable NDS?
