Session Expired (401)

Hello there,

we have periodic problems with session timeouts without a warning.

I already checked the sys_property for session timeout and the timeleft property:

The timeout happens like every 30 minutes without a warning for the timeleft.

This ist the case for onsite collegues, if I'm working from home it seems like it's the configured 3 hours.

What could be the cause for this issue?

Hi @flseiler

ServiceNow session timeouts (401 error) without warning are often caused by browser session inactivity. It is expected behaviour.

If  you are facing issue - you can increase  gilde.ui.session_timeout   sys_properties value as per your requitrement.

Hi Tanushree,

the timeout in the properties ist set to 180 minutes but my collegues do get these timeout while they are working. In our helpdesk they get a timeout while activly redirecting tickets.
I don't think it is supposed like this if you are still working?

They also get these error in way shorter intervals than 180 minutes.
