In my four-part blog series, Need to build a new workspace?, I had some questions about how to modify the dashboard default page. In this follow-up, I’ll explain how to modify those data visualizations.
First, make sure you are on the Dashboards Default page. Then in the upper right, click the Preview button.
Once the page appears, you can click on the Edit button on the right-hand side.
Then click on the data visualization you want to modify. Here I’ve clicked on the My Tasks box. On the right-hand side, a box shows that allows you to configure that data visualization.
- At the top, you can set the Visualization type: Single score, vertical bar, horizontal bar, donut, etc.
- Chart title is where you set the visualizations title. Or click off Show header for no title. Show header separator just sets a line between the header and the visualization data
- Farther down you can see the Data Source. This is where you configure what data to show. (Below I have an example of how the data is setup)
Below the Data Sources is the Metric setting, Do you want a count, average, sum, etc.
If you click the 3 dots next to the data sources, you can see how to configure the data that shows. Pick your table, performance analytics indicator or user analytics, set your filter and save. Repeat for other data visualizations that you want to configure.
I hope this helps explains how to control the data that shows on the dashboard default page.
