I have decided to write an article that explains the different ways to create custom applications in ServiceNow, their purpose and use cases, the development steps involved, the personas who contribute, what can be achieved with custom applications, the prerequisite knowledge required, and how to deploy a custom application from one instance to another.
Introduction: Custom applications help streamline business operations, minimize manual work, accelerate application development, enable automation, and provide a secure scoped environment.
Approach1 :- ServiceNow Studio
Persona - admin , Pro code Developer.
Purpose - Create complex, build end to end business process, integrate with 3rd party application.
Approach2 :- App Engine Studio
Persona - Low code developer
Purpose - Low code app development
Approach3 :- Creator Studio
Persona - Citizen developer, low code developer.
Purpose - Build simple straight forward type of application with low code.
Approach4 :- App creation Now Assist Creator
Persona - Admin, Now assist panel user, Non admin developer
Purpose - Create custom app from Now assist panel while providing the app details.
Approach5 :- App creation using Build with Build Agent
Persona - Any User who has access in ServiceNow Instance.
Purpose - To build custom App using Natural Language statement
Implementation - Create Custom app with tables, forms and business logic.
