My library Knowledge Sources To Go is very popular, but it was intended mainly as a thematically grouped guide to standard sources and was provided by me as a PDF file. For certain topics, however, there is so much content that I can no longer include it in that document, as it cannot continue to grow forever.
For this reason, I have decided to handle such topics in individual community articles like this one instead.
What is Enterprise Architecture?
ServiceNow has expanded its Application Portfolio Management product into a comprehensive Enterprise Architecture (EA) solution, launched in the Xanadu release. This new offering unites strategic and operational teams on a single intelligent platform, enabling organizations to achieve their business objectives and accelerate digital transformation. The Enterprise Architecture workspace provides a consolidated user interface designed for different user roles, offering features such as Application Portfolio Management, Technology Portfolio Management, and Capability-based Planning and Modeling. Key capabilities include enterprise modeling and visualization, which allows architects to create and share diagrams and models, a technology reference model catalog, improved portfolio views, and digital integration management. The platform leverages the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) to align architecture design with ServiceNow's data structure, and includes AI-powered assistance with Now Assist for Enterprise Architecture, planned for release in 2025. This comprehensive solution aims to simplify IT landscapes, reduce costs, transform and innovate business processes, and optimize for scalability and resilience.
