I have a list type field that will not let you choose some of the options. I would like to select one or multiple of any of the choices

As the title suggests I have a list type field:

and it references this table for its choices:

find_real_file.png

Then When I'm in the page that displays the list type field it won't let me select certain options but will let me select others?

for example 'previous good character' can't be selected.

I've looked at all the records and i can't see any differences between them.

 

Sorry for terrible terminology very new to ServiceNow.

I have experienced this in UI page but on normal form it shouldn't be behaving like this.

Can you check if there are any console error when you click on records which are not selectable.

In case you don't find any solution, you can raise HI ticket for the same as this looks like OOTB issue.

Hi, when you state 'it won't let me select certain options but will let me select others' can you clarify the actual behavior and exactly what you mean by 'When I'm in the page that displays the list type field'
Can you see all the options from a form when you try to select them? or are they on the table (mitigating features screenshot) but not visible as selection items in your form?

Normally when a specific record is not available for selection in a reference field it is the result of, a reference qualifier on the field or a dictionary dependency on another field on the form.
Does the fields dictionary entry show any dependency or ref qualifier?

No reference qualifier. It shows all options in the table but when I input a feature by clicking the search icon and a list pops up. previous good character option will highlight the text and do nothing else. where as, with the others I click them and the pop up window disappears and the option i clicked gets added to my record.

Can you see the complete records (all fields) if you browse to the mitigating features table directly?

Hi,

While selecting does it shows all records, and it don't allow to click? that shouldn't be the case.

If you are not able see those options when you try to enter text or click on search icon then its most probably due to reference qualifier.
