User Preference changes are not reflecting on Platform view of project workspace.

Hi,
I have modified 2 column labels in 'pm_project_workspace_columns' user preference as below in SS.

Modified column names are reflecting on Workspace view but its not reflecting on Platform view.

As per my knowledge, User preference is common for both Platform view and Workspace but why changes are not reflecting on both side, please see below screenshots.

Platform view:

Workspace:

What could be the reason?

Que>1: Is user preference referring only Workspace (Newer version) ? What if I want same column name changes on Platform view?

(Important question)

Que>2:  Gear Icon default column list is different for Platform view and workspace, how can we make gear icon(settings) column list same for Platform view and Workspace?

@_Yash24,

Please note that new project workspace lies in different scope sn_pw. And it is not using any application files related to classic planning console.

For classic planning console user preference for selected fields is :  com.snc.project_management.pc.console_preference.pm_project.COLUMNS

And for new planning console : pm_project_workspace_columns

Both are different.

In new planning console you can modify the field label as per users desire but same is not possible in classic. Labels are considered from Planning console Display Columns table(as mentioned in previous comment).

Let me know if it was helpful.

Thanks

Hi @_Yash24,

Classic planning console is part of Global scope and new Project workspace planning console is part of Project Workspace scope.

Please note that if you want to set default view for New planning console. open the project task list view and change your view to project_workspace and configure the list view.

Changing the user preference will only change the value for that user in new Planning console.

You can change the Labels of those dictionary entries so that same is reflected without managing user preference.

If you want to continue with user preference update, for Classic planning console you can go to Project Administration > Settings > Planning Console. Then open the Default context for Project then open the required field from the Related list and update the Label. It will reflect in the Classic Planning console.

Thank you for our reply.

We can update labels form dictionary but why its not happening through User preference for New Planning console.

User preference should common to both new and old version.

What if specific user want few field names different, How to do that?

If we update field label though dictionary then all user can see that updated name but what if few users dont want that updated name and they want it as per their requirement.(We can do that for old planning console using User Preference but what about New planning console)

It seems like New Planning console does not refer/use/support User preference?

If there is any other way, can you please share?
