The Developer Program no longer monitors the community for Personal Developer Instance (PDI)-related issues. To get PDI support, open the Developer Site < https://developer.servicenow.com > and click the Give Feedback button.

I can't see the 'Give Feedback' button either? Is this how you would find it though > Access your developer site, scroll down to footer and it should be there?

I've started my PDI a couple of days ago, have developed two simple web services for POC since then; now that I need them to help me through a tight deadline, the instance has gone offline for holiday! Unfortunately, the replies to the comments above are not encouraging at all either! What is the point to invest in these free services/instances if you cannot rely on them! All the links provided are broken, there is no one affiliated to the company to provide proper explanation/support why they go offline and when they'd be back to service, etc.!!!

I was here back in 1912 when there was no such thing as PDIs.
There is NO WAY ServiceNow would have scaled as fast as it did without this blessing.
I get its a MASSIVE resource investment. I get that support has to come from somewhere.
But I get the feeling its decision time: Either make a PAID PDI program that can support SLAs, or get a cleaner "front door" when our PDI's go down.
Just in my own network there's dozens talking about the PDI outage. These are instances where we're doing R&D, or mocking up training for paying customers. These are instances where hours of free training is being created for your increasingly inscrutable products.
The PDI has become inseparable from the consulting experience. WE, the front line of the ServiceNow value delivery can be set aside / ignored. The hard reality is that the customers will suffer because of this.
PLEASE COMMUNICATE WITH US.
//PDI down since last week.

I'm experiencing the same issue people are experiencing, my PDI (dev100135) has been "unavailable" for a few days now and there is no GIVE FEEDBACK button anywhere to be seen.
I agree with
Yes, I do use Git to commit my work, but when exploring, you don't always commit things and when the instance go out... You are out of luck. Just add this (at an additional cost) to the annual certification.
Also, make it possible (again at an additional cost) to have more than one PDI, because sometime, it would be usefull to be able to test things as if you could publish to a second instance, because the only way to explore this is by doing it on a client instance, which is a big no-no on my book...

I've just noticed a new option on my instance options... Wake Instance. This wasn't there for the last few days. Anyway, I clicked it and 5 minutes later my PDI was back š
Someone did something - thank you.

I had the same issue over the weekend and until yesterday. It took about 4 days and I finally have my PDI back again.
I noticed a red banner stating "Developer instance is undergoing unscheduled maintenance" message.
I am guessing there was some type of outage as I heard similar issues from my co-workers.

Even my PDI is offline for more than a week. Is this communicated through email?
Kindly look into this as early as possible.

So I received the following in an email a couple days ago:
|
The URL contained in the "Instance Help" hotlink (https://community.servicenow.com/community/develop/instance-help) redirects me to this URL:
https://www.servicenow.com/community/
I figured since I just got this email that this would be the most up to date way to report this issue BUT it's NOT!
Very disappointing.

Hello @Kamini Kansal ,
Same situation as @Vladimir Cheres here for my dev instance dev79618. I used it last week, about 7 days ago maximum.
The instance just disappeared from the developper portal. I can just request a new one without the possibility to restore the previous. (I read that this is not available anymore, so not surprised I can't do it)
I didn't receive the inactivity warning email as it usually happens before the instance being released. 100% sure I didn't exceed the 10 days inactivity threshold.
When I try to access the instance, it says it is hibernating and we don't have a hint of who it belongs to at the moment.
I feel like the instance is still mine in theory, but the portal doesn't know its existence.
Is there a way to fix this ?
Thanks

@Vladimir Cheres & @Alexandre Fales,
I feel your pain. I got an email on a Friday earlier this year that I had 48 hours to reduce the size. The largest tables are protected so I could not remove enough data. My PDI was gone by Monday morning.

First of all it seems that nobody cares anymore since they stopped the support.
Not sure if this will help you but here is what happened to me:
- On Monday my PDI was hibernated and of course not found in my profile (I only had the option to request a new one)
- On Tuesday I accidentally found that instance is awake (not sure how) but was not able to log in since my admin user's password was changed. Luckily I had other admin user I am using in Postman so I used that one to break in and do my backup. Basically it seems that either the instance is now assigned to someone else or it is orphaned. There are some configuration changes being done on the instance itself but seems all my stuff is still there (not wiped out).
I have this PDI since more than 5-6 years and it is quite unacceptable such things to happen especially if this is now assigned to someone else. Absolutely unreliable service.

This is an old thread and the Feedback Button no longer exists nor does ServiceNow provide support for PDIs any longer as far as I am aware.
Please refer to this link of PDI FAQs where it states if you cannot get your PDI back online, you will need to release the old one and request a new one. They are recommending you maintain backups of your customizations and data in the event you do have to request a new PDI.

My PDI instance https://developer.servicenow.com/dev.do#!/home/ is offline for last couple of weeks. I couldn't post this issue in the 'Give Feedback' of PDI . I need the instance to be online urgently and also don't want to lose work on my instance. I am continuously receiving this below message for a long.
Can anyone from service-now instance team please have a look, please?

@Bob Mullineaux I have no ideas, but my post was posted only for me (another issue hahaha).
Anyway here are details:
"Upgrade from Tokyo to Utah release is still in progress (4 days already).
This is my second upgrade... The previous one from Tokyo patch 1 to 4 took some hours maybe. But the current upgradation procedure is still in progress...
I have started it on Monday, April 24th... So today is the fourth day.
And I have no ideas what is wrong... maybe Monday is a bad day for upgrading
I am also wondering will they delete my instance after 10 days of inactivity?
Maybe someone knows the support e-mail or any link to create a ticket about that issue?
Thanks in advance!
"

I am going to guess you may be unsuccessful at recovering your "in progress" upgraded PDI and will have to resort to releasing the old one and requesting a new one. This exact issue happened to me several years back and I was forced to request a new instance (which I lost all customizations). Again, the implication in the link I attached is that PDIs are not supported and owners of the PDI are encouraged to save customizations/data in case of events where the PDI is not waking up, thus the only resort is to Request a new PDI and restore saved work.
Please do let us know the outcome?

Thank you @Bob Mullineaux
it looks like the only way was to ask for the new PDI...
and I did it)
It took me about 2 minutes to get new PDI with Utah release and lost some of my data for previous PDI (not saved at Git)
Here is a result: new PDI is up and run š

Now that ServiceNow doesn't monitor forums for PDI related questions and they've removed the "Give Feedback" option, just how do we reach out to them when there are problems with PDIs? Apparently they're not using their own incident management and problem management tool set!

Or you can be like me and receive an email out of the blue to say "my" recently requested PDI reset/wipe had been completed.
Thing is, I had done nothing of the sort and lost a lot of work in the process.

I believe the point is, "ServiceNow no longer supports PDIs" and your best option is to frequently save your work and data and if your PDI fails to wake, you request a new instance and restore your work/data. The good news is that process is generally quick and easy.

If they don't support it then maybe they should just stop running it. When the proverbial "they" think that users of PDIs have made requests to wipe/reset their PDI instance and no such request was made then they have serious problems with their PDI management infrastructure. I've used lots of free developer options from lots of different providers and never once have I seen anything like this level of mismanagement.

And... just because they don't support PDIs doesn't mean that they shouldn't have some way for users to report problems with the platform.
If they drank their own kool-aid and used incident management and problem management for the PDIs then they could easily record, correlate and correct problems with the platform without feeling like they have to respond to every message on a forum or some sort of feedback form.
Bottom line, there are many ways to skin this cat, and simply ignoring the developer community with the proclamation that they "no longer support PDIs" is surely the laziest way to deal with this situation. And as someone that belongs to the product lab group I'm going to make sure to find ways to let them know.

On top of the Give Feedback doesn't exist anymore, it looks like the 10 days of no activity is also not being respected.
I was logged and working on my PDI last Friday and today, Tuesday, received the email notification stating that the PDI will be reclaimed by the end of the day tomorrow.
This led me to understand what is happening or sort of.
If you receive the notification, they will start to count the login you do right after that, meaning, starting today, they will count 10 days if I login.

I'm really in trouble since I cannot deploy the update sets in there into my production instance, so could you fix it immediately?

Also, looks like there are a lot more users facing same issue. Is there an estimated recovery time?

If it hasn't been mentioned on this specific thread, ServiceNow no longer offers any form of support or communication with them with regard to PDIs. They've stopped monitoring the forum, removed the "Give Feedback" that gets mentioned, stopped offering PDI restores, stopped posting blog updates and will not respond to any questions about PDIs through this forum. Sorry to say but you're on your own when it comes to help with PDI problems. Many people have lost hours upon hours of work because of a stream of unsolicited instance resets from ServiceNow and their only course of action is to request a new PDI and start over.
