Your developer instance is currently offline due to a datacenter maintenance in progress. Once work has completed, your instance will be online and ready for use.
Unfortunately, we do not have any ETA. We are actively working on this issue. If you have a backup of your instance like update sets or on git, you may release this instance and get a new one.

I've been directed (form here) to make a comment on this thread.

Requesting assistance restoring content from a Developer instance. My instance had been, dev81606. When attempting to restore I'm presented with the message, "There are no available backups".

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Chad,

Your previous developer instance (dev81606) has been reassigned to you. You will need to perform an 'Admin password reset' to regain access. Please ensure you are using update sets or a git integration to back up the changes you've made within your instance. This will help to mitigate this issue by moving forwards.

NOTE: The same developer instance is not usually reassigned to its previous user once they've been reclaimed/released. Once an instance is reclaimed, an automated process removes all configuration changes made, thus returning the instance to an out of the box state.

Hi Abhijeet,

Unfortunately once a developer instance is reclaimed all configuration changes made to the instance are purged as the instance is returned to an out of the box state. Now the other option is to restore your previous instance over to a new instance. Please use the below steps to restore your instance:

 >>Login to https://developer.servicenow.com >> Click Restore an Instance >> Select your instance >> click Restore.

We keep telling to our users that please do not depend on these backups. We don't want people to rely on backups because they are actually not very reliable - they can be lost because the server that they were stored on has a hardware failure, or the backup failed to execute successfully.

Please ensure you are using update sets or a git integration to back up the changes you've made within your instance. This will help to mitigate this issue moving forward.

I tried restoring instance multiple times yesterday and today. However it's failing. Is there a way to hard reset it? Could you please assist ?

Your instance had some issues. So, we have again restored your instance over to dev58098 and assigned you the same. Can you take a look and let us know if you're having any issues?

dev82254 is still offline, I received an email that.

"An attempt to restore your previous instance: dev82254 has failed." The instance was backed up on July 28th.

Hi @Kamini Kansal ! You look very busy given how many instances I'm seeing like mine, offline.

Can you please bring https://dev101772.service-now.com back online?

The only option I have is to release the instance, and I don't want to lose all of mine and my colleagues work for a POC. I've tried to access the instance from the dev portal as well as directly to the instance.

Can this be fixed?
