Assigned to and Assignment group of tasks the look up is not working

When searching for a user in any task you used to be able to select their name in assigned to and click the search button in assignment group and only the groups, they are in would show up. This is not working anymore.

It is now showing all groups is their a way to make it so that it only shows just the groups the user is assigned to 

currently if the group is entered for the assigned to is showing just the groups.

If you are using PDI and its fresh one, then just to add no validation has been marked on the said question. You need to create the validation to make it work.

Joshua - Either this never was, or is no longer an ootb setup. I'm guessing it was something had built out previously, but is now gone. The links Atulya sent will help you recreate that functionality.
