Best Practice for maintaining manually entered CIs

We have had to manually enter some CIs such as network appliances and some servers.  What is the best approach to use to have a task or something generated for someone to verify that the server is still operational every so often so the CI does not go non operational and stale?

I think you can use Data Certification module to certify these CIs. It would create a Data Certification task for all the manual CIs and assign to an owner or a person.

Sanjiv is correct, this is the best method. We have also elected to add a Tag to anything which is manually created to quickly identify and report on.

Thank you both. I started going down that path but then was questioning if that was the best way to do it.  I will continue forward with that and get that set up.  I do like the idea of tagging them, I hadn't thought of doing that.

Atul: If possible please avoid this, or put 2 eyes check atleast , bcz if garbage in garbage out. also try to follow a standard template to get data.
