Hello All,
For an organization which is less matured with change, incidents, etc,..what are some of the best practices that configuration management can track the server decommissions? Does the configuration management team gets involved in CAB meetings? or do they get notified in case of decommissions or deployments? how to ensure the statuses are in right order? We are implementing processes but looking for some best practices to review the statuses.

If I understood, you want to track Server decommissions? If I say , my experience, then yes CAB need to involve with other team lkie Database / Server as well, to see the impact of decommission. It should go as per Normal change.
You can skip the CAB if Server is 4- level of critical.
If my response proves useful, please indicate its helpfulness by selecting " Accept as Solution" and " Helpful." This action benefits both the community and me.
