"This package required minimum OS version: Windows Server 12 or greater" is the error message I'm getting when I try to install the MID in Server on my laptop.

According to the product documentation, "MID Servers can be manually installed to any operating system with the ZIP file, however Windows 10 is unsupported". Therefore, you should use one of the supported operating systems that are listed here.

Old post I know, but you can do this -- you just have to install it manually.
On the MID Server installation page, first follow the "Install a MID Server manually" section, and then "Configure Windows MID Server service credentials."
The docs page isn't clear on how to get the ZIP file, but you just have to click the checkbox at the bottom of the page.
