CMDB Data Manager policy to automatically process CIs life cycle event

Hi,

 

i need to create CMDB Data Manager policy to automatically process CIs life cycle event along with the policy type and filter criteria.

 

  • When an IP Address is assigned to a DNS-Name, the status of the DNS-Name shall be automatically set to "installed."

 

how to do that.

Could you please help me on this.

Lifecycle rule is baically to define when you want to retire the CI. You can read about it here Lifecycle 

In order to create data manager policy you will need an active life cycle rule. 

I am attaching the opration which you can do in data manager. 

 

Ideally the install status is either discovered or imported. And if you are doing it manually then you can use a flow to do the same.

but i want to know who to create any policy depending on related records.

 

like when every any CI's moved to Retire associated Network adopter CI also need to be  retired. how to do that.

CMDB Data Manager supports automatic retirement of dependent CIs - you can read more about how this works and is managed in the Product Documentation.
