Hi @Sara_M ,
Why Duplicate Metric is Missing
* Duplicate metric is a global metric — it runs across CIs and classes to detect duplicates.
* It is not class-specific, unlike completeness or correctness rules which you can add per CI class.
* That’s why you don’t see "Duplicate" available in CI Class Manager → Health Inclusion rules dropdown.
How Duplicate Metric is Controlled
1. Configuration Item Identification & Reconciliation Engine (IRE)
* Duplicate detection relies on Identification Rules defined in IRE.
* If multiple CIs match the same identifiers, they are flagged as duplicates.
2. Duplicate metric enablement
* Navigate to CMDB Health → Metrics Definitions (cmdb_health_metric)
* Verify that Duplicate metric is Active and linked to the Global Health Dashboard.
* It won’t appear in CI Class Manager, but it will still show results on the Health Dashboard.
3. Health Inclusion Rules only apply to metrics like Completeness, Correctness, Compliance (not Duplicate).
* Best practice: Don’t expect duplicate metric to be added at class level. It’s evaluated globally by IRE and reported automatically.
Best Practice Approach
* Don’t try to add Duplicate to CI Class Manager → Health Inclusion rules (not supported).
* Instead:
* Ensure your Identification rules for each CI class are properly configured (critical for accurate duplicate detection).
* Validate that Duplicate metric is active in Metric Definitions.
* Use the Duplicate CI Dashboard (part of CMDB Health) for visibility into duplicates across classes.

HI Sara,
What AJ is saying is correct. Duplicate metric health inclusion rule is only available in global, so if you are a user in a non-global domain, you won't be able to set up health inclusion rules for it! Here is the documentation: https://www.servicenow.com/docs/bundle/zurich-servicenow-platform/page/product/configuration-managem...

Thank you both. I realised Duplicate metric is a global scoped one and not available in custom scope and i am trying to set the metric and run the report there.. Thank you both.
