Hello,
We are currently working on cleaning up Duplicate CIs reported in CMDB Health results. Due to to some internal limitations, the number in our Server CI names are to be used from a given range. So, for example, in case of Server ABC123456, once it is decommissioned, the name will be available for use again. That means, we can have 2 or more Servers named "ABC123456" available in CIs but only one will be actually Online/Installed.
Currently the Duplicates results show multiple such CIs based on common names where the duplicate CI is actually retired. Do we have the option of editing this parameter to check the state as well when checking for duplicate names ?
Thank you.

Hi Rohit,
Duplicate CIs are found based on criterion attributes specified in identification rules for the CI's class.
So yes, if you are looking to tweak the criteria to ensure if it is a duplicate by looking 1 or more fields you can do that by creating or editing the identification rule for that specific CI Class.
For Referece:
https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/rome-servicenow-platform/page/product/configuration-management/concept/c_CMDBIdentifyandReconcile.html
Looking at the above example it might be worth just applying this to the server class.
Hope that helps.
