Discovering applications on servers

Hello all,

Do all applications on servers get discovered in ServiceNow during horizontal discovery?
or
Do you have to manually add runs on:runs relationships?

Hi @Steven Barber ,

Application running on any type of Server  (Windows, AIX, Unix etc) will discover by ServiceNow Discovery and Relationship will be created buy them automatically in CMDB_rel_ci table with runs on:runs relationship type.

This is OOB feature of ServiceNow Discovery , Please dont create manually anything.

My limited knowledge say Yes, and if we add Service Mapping then all relationship also come.

Are there specific applications that ServiceNow will discover?

Do you need service mapping to discover the applications or is regular discovery good enough?
