Notifying teams when Changes are logged against a Configuration Item

What is the best approach to notify a team when  any changes has been logged against a group of CIs?

The team in question does not provide any support or approval for the CIs but needs to be made away when any of the Configuration Items are included as an affected CI in a change.

@Steven Morse Look into the 'Subscribe' functionality on CIs.

There is a KB article about how this works. You'll likely want to automate in some way the subscription to the CIs but I think it'll get you where you want to go.

Yes @Steven Morse

The team who needs to be notified is not involved in change approval for these CIs. --> How the system will not which teams not involved in change?

I am really sorry but  - How the system will not which teams not involved in change? - does not make sense.

Yes, only then we can get those team name and send the email.

Example

A Change has 5 CI

a

b

c

d

e

f

out of these

a  - Approval trigger in change

b  - Approval trigger

c - No Action

d - No Action

e - No Action

Now, as per you, we need to send email to C-D- E CI groups  that there is no action for you, but you added as affected CI.

Right or I am wrong?

If I am right, then I have a question, how the system will find these 3 CI's out of these 5 CI's.

Yes the situation described is correct,

I am not sure what you mean by 'find' the CIs.

I want a notification email to trigger to a certain team whenever C,D or E are included as an impacted CI in a change. Is this possible and if so, how can i configure this?

Hi @Steven Morse

Thanks for confirmation.

I am not sure what you mean by 'find' the CIs.  --> Find mean, to get the list of these 3 CI's and then get their groups for to use as email recipients.

I want a notification email to trigger to a certain team whenever C,D or E are included as an impacted CI in a change. Is this possible and if so, how can i configure this?

Atul: If you want to send to all affected CI group or only limited like in our case C/D/E only?
