Hi,
We are doing a POC on one of the ITOM feature "Oracle Global License Advisory Services" to know the Oracle License count. However, it gives the right result for the Physical DB servers on which Oracle DB instance are running. Said that we have prbolem for Virtual Servers, as this virtual DB servers are hosted on the ESX Servers. Now when we scan the Virtual DB servers it give's VCPU count. which is not actual license count. The actual license count exists on the ESX servers on which it is hosted.
The DB team express that it is a normal standard process that every company follows.
If that is the case, then I was hoping ServiceNow will find solution for it in getting the actual license count from the physical servers. But we did not found any solution for it.
Any ideas or thoughts on this?

Hi @Suman21 ,
Below are my thoughts,
Oracle Database Instances → Hosted Virtual Machine → Physical ESX Host → CPU Core Count → License Count
Step 1: Check if you have appropriate relationships between the Host Virtual Machine and Physical ESX Host Server in the cmdb_rel_ci table
Host Virtual Machine Registered on::Has registered Physical ESX Host Server
Step 2 : Cross-check if the cpu_core_count field is populated for each ESX host in cmdb_ci_esx_server table.
Step 3 : Please dot walking to child.cpu_core_count field in the list view and generate a report based on these value to calculate the license count from host server instead of virtual machines from the relationship table.
If you found this answer insightful, please mark it as helpful or kindly accept the solution
