Some basic questions :-
Does tape Units are independent devices on N/W with some IP or Tape Unit is attached to some devices on n/w?
How do u access tape unit (GUI,Command Prompt) , What credentials are used to access Tape Unit?
In Service Now CMDB i see a Class for tape Unit- cmdb_ci_tape_server
My Preliminary investigations shows its not discoverable as of now.
but Nothing out of box for that aspect of Discovery, but if you can ask the right questions through supported protocols Discovery can do it.
