Hello,
We would like to start discovering our Ricoh Printers globally. SNMP is enabled by default and the snmp credentials used is the regurlar 'public' one.
So far so good, but there is one showstopper, discovery is picking the 'sysname' from the printer instead of the
'hostname'. Sysname is bringing in the Modelname..... Where to correct this whole process, so that the system will take the 'hostname' instead of the 'sysname' ?
Secondly the identification rule is creating the first records with the Modelname. When a 2nd printer with the same model is trying to be discovered, the identification rule is updating the existing record with the serial information.
What can we do to manipulate the printer identification rule so that all records will be coming in, allthough the name might be not unique.
Also the identification rule should not change the identification setting for partens or child classes
Anyone has an idea ?

So is the hostname not at all getting populated? If it is getting populated, you can make it as the first priority in the identifier entries (same can be done if any other unique fields are populated). If hostname or any other unique fields are NOT getting populated by discovery, then identification rules modification won't help to solve the issue.
Check if the following URL is helpful:

Search for Ricoh on the page which opens from the URL above. You can find a similar problem and solution mentioned there. If you are still not able to solve it after trying whatever is mentioned in that, raise a hi-ticket with ServiceNow.
