Wireless access point discovery

Hi Everyon,
I run quick discovery on WAP IP.
result to that quick discovery I got 6 OID.
then I created on SNMP OID selecting table as IP switch and classifier as standared network switch.
Then I run quick discovery on same IP.
As a result the WAP IP got discovered and created but it got created in IP switch class intead of Wireless access point class.So, Again I update SNMP OID which I created before and change the table field as wireless access point.
Again running quick discovery on same WAP IP .
As result to the quick discovery
it shows

source -> x.x.x.x

CMDB CI -> empty

classification prob -> snmp classify

class-> WAP

completed activity-> classified
Current Activity-> Identifying
Scan - > completed 2

CI classified to wireless access point class but not created/updated to wireless access point class intead of that it is getting created/updated into IP switch again
I want WAP CI to be created in wireless access point.

How can I achieve that?

Hi @ssr99,

Are you still having this issue or have you come to a solution?

Hi @ssr99,

I believe this has to do with the IRE CI reclassification system properties. Take a look at the below documentation to see if it helps to re-classify an existing CI.

https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/xanadu-servicenow-platform/page/product/configuration-management/...

Thanks,

Hi ssr99,

To discover our WAPs, I had to run a discovery on our controller at our databank. I was having similar issues when trying to discover our WAPs directly.

When targeting our controller's IP, however, all of our WAPs were added into our CMDB successfully AS Wireless Access Points.

I hope this helps!

Thanks,

Danny
