Retired Service Map in Home dashboard

I have noticed that in the Service Mapping Home dashboard, that in the Completed area, I continue to see a mapped and approved service map.   Is there a reason why these continue to be visible in the dashboard in perpetuity and what is the proper way to effectively show the current landscape of service maps?   The sections on the screen are:
Map - Fix - Approve - Complete.
