Hi, Does anyone have any clues or tips about capturing backup policy information against Server CIs? Specifically, backup frequency and retention period. The purpose or intent is to use the values to perform a periodic attestation that backups are being performed in line with the policy.
The natural extension to the above question is how to best capture and store backup instances.
I'm not seeing any OOTB attributes in support of this?
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Use CMDB workspace. There you can create an attestation task. Check the video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGQhPbIcVus
The workspace is updated later so you might see some changes in the UI. Please mark it helpful if solves your problem.

Thanks for the reply. Not exactly what I was asking. The attestation feature in Data Manager is great, but its purpose is to attest whether the CI exists or not.
I actually think Data Certification is a better feature for the use case I mentioned (it provides field level certification).
Even so, there doesn't appear to be attributes available to capture backup policy information against servers. That's my primary question. Does it make sense to store this data in the CMDB?

You would need to create custom attributes like Backup policy, Backup reason, Backup frequency, Backup retention period etc. Also there is an OOB field named 'Disaster backup' (dr_backup) which is a reference to the 'Server' table and this can be used to indicate which is the backup server that is used for any particular server.
