Hello
Currently we have Discovery schedules configured for different zones in our organisations Datacentres.
I would like to be able to add a flag to devices based on the schedule which the discovered IP address sits. Therefore denoting the zone the CI sits in. This would allow for easy identification of groups of CIs within each zone.
Is there a way I can configure a Discovery schedule to update a particular field. This would not be using data discovered on the device.
For example I configure a Discovery schedule for the IP addresses within the 'Blue Zone' - can i configure the schedule to populate the 'Used For' field on each CI created/updated by that schedule with a value stating 'Blue Zone'?
I hope this makes sense - any help would be most welcome
Thanks

Location can be set on a schedule, all CIs discovered by that schedule will get the location populated based on schedule.
You can also think of using CMDB groups (technical services) based on ip range or any other way of querying CIs.

Hi,
1. To display the 'Used For' in highlighted field then you should check the that value is coming from Discovery. To identify you should check ECC after running the discovery.
2. Next step check OOB Pattern is having the field mapping to tag the 'Used For'. If yes, not required to customize the pattern.
3. If 2nd step not available you should customize as per the business requirement. You should use 'Extension Section' and implement your code.
