Business Service criticality framework

Hi Everyone,

We are in the process of implementing our Business Services/Service Offerings across our organization. Initially we allowed Service Owners to self-assess their Business Criticality based on some basic criteria. This didn't go so well as everyone assumed their services were more critical than what they actually are. We are looking at the support/monitoring/availability requirements for our services and its forcing us to ask the question if a number of them are really as critical as we were told. I was wondering if anyone had any examples of a criticality matrix/framework/criteria that you use in your organizations to assess the criticality of your services. Something simple to use that I can get some ideas from.

Thanks

Peter
